Important roadworks information A14 eastbound junctions 21 to 24 – resurfacing

National Highways plan to carry out urgent resurfacing work on the A14 eastbound between junctions 21 and 24. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer, smoother and better-defined road surface.

We plan to complete this work over one night between Thursday 16 January and Friday 17 January 2025. We will work between 8pm and 6am, weather permitting.

Closures and diversions

To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A14 between junctions 21 and 24 and divert traffic as follows:

  • Traffic travelling eastbound on the A14 should exit at junction 21.
  • At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A141.
  • At the Brampton Hut Interchange, take the third exit to merge onto A1 southbound for 9.2 miles
  • Take the exit slip and merge onto the A428 eastbound.
  • Continue on the A428 for approximately 16.6 miles and merge back onto the A14 eastbound. The diversion ends for A14 eastbound traffic.
  • For traffic wishing to go back to junction 24, take the exit slip at A14 eastbound junction 32.
  • At the roundabout take the fourth exit to join the A14 westbound.
